Medical Services
If you get sick during night time, on weekends, or holidays:
Please dial 119 and ask for an English speaker to assist you with ambulance services if needed. You can also ask for the nearest emergency or trauma department that is open if you are calling late at night.

There are many hospitals in CIS Abroad program locations in Japan, both private and public. Below are just a few that we have found closest to our programs.
Tokyo:

Pharmacies
Most hospitals have 24-hour pharmacies to fill any emergency prescriptions, and convenience stores (conbini) are well stocked in many over the counter medications, but most pharmacies are not 24 hours. However, here are also a few pharmacies that are located close by CIS Abroad programs:

Mental Health Resources
Local Councilors
There are many counselors in Japan, and CISI Insurance covers up to $1000 worth of mental health counseling. Here are some resources for finding local counselors.
- Tokyo Mental Health - A website connecting people with native-English speaking mental health professionals, many of whom were trained in the US.
- Roppongi Clinic - A clinic in Roppongi area of Tokyo that accepts NHI health insurance.
